I now have a quandary, I have been invited to a VE Day veterans event (no, I’m not one) on the same day as the final. It’s going to be a pretty special day with a lot of lads who aren’t going to be around much longer. What to do?

I've read some of the other responses. My feeling is that great sacrifices were made for YOU to enjoy rare days like this. Your VE day attendance will be inconsequential (sorry if that sounds brash) wether you attend or not. I get that's important too. But ultimately, you get one life. Don't deprive yourself. Come and watch the shots grace the turf at Wembley.

I’ve thought long and hard about it, and getting to spend some time with these fine gentlemen is more important to me than watching 22 men kick a bag of wind about. Even if it is the Shots at Wembley.
