Boston Utd
Congrats to Boston on a superb finish to a season where they looked doomed in truth.
32 points from 45 has been amazing, and they fully deserve all the plaudits.

Re: Boston Utd
Graham Coughlan certainly turned things around there. It will be interesting to see if they continue in the same vein next season.
Re: Boston Utd
Yes fair play to Boston. I thought they were “goners” already in December along with Ebbsfleet. To take a moment of reality though, it is often said on here about our seemingly constant flirtations with relegation, that “all it will take is for all those teams below us to pick up a few points…..” etc, etc. Most years one team does do just that, and Boston are the proof this year, but (apart from our short spurt) they were the only ones.
It gets frustrating when we seemingly constantly put ourselves in precarious circumstances year after year, and I think potential reasons are debated to death on here, so there is no point raising them again in this post. However when we are like that, it has to be realised that everyone around us are there for the same sort of reasons, and, as I said, although one team might make a good run to survive, law of averages etc mean that everyone else won’t.
I am a realist and I have said on here about emotion and how that affects perception of the reality. Taking a step back, taking a deep breath and letting emotion subside before acting is a great mantra to work from.
Anyway, well done Boston and let’s hope that the Shots keep their destiny in their own hands next season and beyond.

Re: Boston Utd
I thought the Boston fitness levels and fluidity of movement in their team were much greater when we played them recently .Their link up play and passing was excellent too. When Shots won at Wealdstone away , I thought we played superbly throughout the team and it’s difficult to comprehend how badly we have played recently.Anyway congratulations to Boston on their amazing run and turnaround in form

I’ve been a very loyal supporter of this football club since 1983 doing away games regularly since 1988 except for the last 3/4 years mainly because of working most Saturdays but unfortunately when I was hatched matey upstairs didn’t offer me any patience whatsoever and I’m getting pissed off with following club that seems to struggle every season, something has to change very soon otherwise I might start picking and choosing certain games or become something I hate which is being a glory hunter!

Thinking this myself . A season of doing 1 or 2 games here and there indispersed with some groundhopping . The way the fans have been treated the last few weeks is a pisstake .Peter macdonald wrote: ↑Sun Apr 27, 2025 10:52 am I’ve been a very loyal supporter of this football club since 1983 doing away games regularly since 1988 except for the last 3/4 years mainly because of working most Saturdays but unfortunately when I was hatched matey upstairs didn’t offer me any patience whatsoever and I’m getting pissed off with following club that seems to struggle every season, something has to change very soon otherwise I might start picking and choosing certain games or become something I hate which is being a glory hunter!

This has been me most of this season, it’s costs me £60 plus for a home and more for the aways and I’ve done all the grounds in this division so me and the lad pick a euro game each month now, this year we’ve done 2 German, 1 Spanish and 3 Italian and they’ve all been massive fun and done in a day.lowerbourneshot wrote: ↑Sun Apr 27, 2025 1:50 pmThinking this myself . Yeah, no stress and amazing pizza! Como is on the list, did Atalanta, Verona and AC Milan all flying into Bergamo from Stansted. We drove to Dortmund and Stuttgart. Spanish one was Seville, but that was a long old day with a late flight home.lowerbourneshot wrote: ↑Sun Apr 27, 2025 4:03 pmAn no stress of watching usTurnkey wrote: ↑Sun Apr 27, 2025 3:45 pmThis has been me most of this season, it’s costs me £60 plus for a home and more for the aways and I’ve done all the grounds in this division so me and the lad pick a euro game each month now, this year we’ve done 2 German, 1 Spanish and 3 Italian and they’ve all been massive fun and done in a day.lowerbourneshot wrote: ↑Sun Apr 27, 2025 1:50 pm

Re: Boston Utd
Unfortunately Peter we are a bottom 8 club and many clubs have gone past us. Some people are happy to just have a club others want more. But £21(23) is a lot to pay especially when we don't seem to take all games seriously and the chairman seems happy for us to just go along happily in the bottom half of the league. Unless there is a change of vision then nothing will changelowerbourneshot wrote: ↑Sun Apr 27, 2025 1:50 pmThinking this myself . Re: Boston Utd
This is the key for me, we got tickets in the San Siro for Milan for €18 each. Trains are dirt cheap and book a month in advance the flights are £50. That’s top flight Italian footy and a great day out for about £75. No brainer for me.Josh wrote: ↑Sun Apr 27, 2025 4:57 pm Some people are happy to just have a club others want more. Just have to bear in mind that Milan Station has *two* platform 1s. Very disturbing when one is on one of them and realising that the necessary train has arrived on the other one, which is some away.lowerbourneshot wrote: ↑Sun Apr 27, 2025 4:03 pmAn no stress of watching usTurnkey wrote: ↑Sun Apr 27, 2025 3:45 pmThis has been me most of this season, it’s costs me £60 plus for a home and more for the aways and I’ve done all the grounds in this division so me and the lad pick a euro game each month now, this year we’ve done 2 German, 1 Spanish and 3 Italian and they’ve all been massive fun and done in a day.lowerbourneshot wrote: ↑Sun Apr 27, 2025 1:50 pm
