We all want the same thing whatever side of the TW jnr or senior camp you sit on which is for the club to win every game its plays. No need to lay down any arms its just a matter of different opinions which from what I can remember is still allowed.

Re: Difference of Opinion?
The BOD have overall control of contacts and they will say yes or no depending on there perception of positive outcome of someone coming to the club. However you need strong leadership for this to work.
For instance when I was a director I was vehemently opposed to a signing, where I thought due diligence hadn't been carried out. I was overruled (due to a lack of knowledge by other board members) and the signing was a disaster.
In my opinion it can be difficult to challenge a manager but let's be honest, they're paid to do a job and are subordinate to the people who pay the wages etc.

That's the problem Brian, was due diligence done at the time or is it now a post event scenario?brian bloomfield wrote: ↑Thu May 01, 2025 5:04 pm The BOD have overall control of contacts and they will say yes or no depending on there perception of positive outcome of someone coming to the club. Wasn't on the board when Leon came, but agree Peter he was a disappointment. Leon was just 22 when he came to us and he didn't settle in, we at least got some money back on the sale to Bedford I believe.Peter macdonald wrote: ↑Thu May 01, 2025 5:25 pmI’ll guess at Leon gutzmore?A.T.F.C 92 wrote: ↑Thu May 01, 2025 5:13 pmName and shame the signingbrian bloomfield wrote: ↑Thu May 01, 2025 5:04 pm The BOD have overall control of contacts and they will say yes or no depending on there perception of positive outcome of someone coming to the club. Re: Difference of Opinion?
If there is a dispute about this, I would guess it is about the length of the contract.
The board probably accepts that Tommy, if he’s staying, will want to keep his son, but probably don’t want to give him a two year contract - after all he’s 26, unlikely to have any re-sale value and was suspended three times last season. The board probably wouldn’t want him on a longer contract than his dad to avoid a potentially toxic situation where a player who has previous form for swearing at his own fans is using up a significant part of the playing budget when he might not be required by any new manager.

The only manager that would put him in a National League side is his dad.Melbourne Red wrote: ↑Fri May 02, 2025 9:51 am If there is a dispute about this, I would guess it is about the length of the contract.

Re: Difference of Opinion?
Far too often "proof" of being a "real supporter" means buying into hate. At its worse it's the Man U 1958 chants or the Hillsborough 89 chants. Real people died in those events ; why would anyone disrespect them or their loved ones in order to be a "real" fan ? You can have a banter drawing attention to your opponants hopelessness etc(Us to Woking, them to us for example!) or to get the biggest laugh -remember Reading v Norwich when Reading stormed the Championship. Norwich fans "Where were you when you were s**t" Reading fans "When were Reading ever s**t" Norwich fans "Last year, when you were Chelsea fans,Last year...." We should develope some equally cutting replies-everyone laughed.Old Bob wrote: ↑Thu May 01, 2025 4:36 pmSupport takes many forms, Stevie. You should not infer that just because different supporters have differing opinions that they cannot all be "real" supporters. I don’t believe that is the case at all.stevieshot wrote: ↑Thu May 01, 2025 3:37 pm What would it take for the different factions on Shotsweb, to lay down their arms for 2 weeks, and actually support the Shots. Letting off steam here over the endless frustrations that come with supporting ATFC is just banter/opinion and doesn't in anyway say fake/real supporter.

Join the Supporters Club and you can hear the latest from the horses mouth as it were . So many positives if you really want to know rather than speculate .
Either via event talks or face to face discussion .

Re: Difference of Opinion?
I'm not saying any side are not true supporters. Just to stop bickering, stop blaming players or management. And get behind the club as a whole. While results haven't been good lately, let's hope the main objective next Sunday is a professional performance and win.Old Bob wrote: ↑Thu May 01, 2025 4:36 pmSupport takes many forms, Stevie. If you had been at the SC Awards night yesterday Mr Widdrington said they were going to ******* win it. !
He has no intention of letting the team fall to a defeat.
