Re: STICKY: Pre Season Friendlies (news as announced)
Just seen the Marc White news video in which he says this .... Surely he means 26 July rather than June?
We don't normally begin pre-season until the start of July and 26 June is a Thursday in any case .... whereas 26 July is a Saturday
Re: STICKY: Pre Season Friendlies (news as announced)
Yes, you are correct. In line with FA rule B21.1 and B21.3, which defines the close season, teams are not permitted to play 11v11 fixtures in the month of June. This is due to no insurance, no sanction, no affiliation etc. The only football still permitted by the FA is affiliated summer tournaments, 9v9 and 7v7 football.

Re: STICKY: Pre Season Friendlies (news as announced)
Well, I was grateful for the information, however it was obtained. Thanks for clarifying!
Dorking for a PSF should actually be a pleasant afternoon, assuming a lesser crowd means that getting a reasonable view of the game will be easier.

I don't imagine we'll see much action on our pitch over the summer.

For anybody who uses Futbology the Dorking Wanderers game has now been added to the app.

Suddenly, a midweek trip to Rusthall doesn't seem so disappointing ...redblueuptoyou wrote: ↑Mon May 19, 2025 3:35 pm Billericay (!) away on 19th July.

Probably won’t, but it would be good to have a couple of quality PSF at the Rec. A lot of other clubs seem to get someone a little bit different to their usual opponents.Aldershot_Rob wrote: ↑Sun May 04, 2025 3:28 pm I don't imagine we'll see much action on our pitch over the summer.

Someone on Social Media had a good idea of trying to get a Crystal Palace XI down for a red and blue trophy ribbon fiesta!Fuggletim wrote: ↑Mon May 19, 2025 9:06 pmProbably won’t, but it would be good to have a couple of quality PSF at the Rec. Great idea! Having been adversaries in the league, many, many years ago and as payment for “stealing” our red and blue shades of colour it would be great!CH wrote: ↑Tue May 20, 2025 10:22 amSomeone on Social Media had a good idea of trying to get a Crystal Palace XI down for a red and blue trophy ribbon fiesta!Fuggletim wrote: ↑Mon May 19, 2025 9:06 pmProbably won’t, but it would be good to have a couple of quality PSF at the Rec. At least only one set of trophy ribbons would be needed!
