Olly Scott also did a sterling job as left centre half. Him and Harfield interchanging could work well. Feels like we need a wing-back who could cover either side like Nick Arnold used to?

I'd keep Ollie Bray both for his potential and because he can play as a central striker. We have missed having many (any?) players capable of playing there.
On these answers I would keep Old Bob but release Alex
Ah, but can you afford me? I've been keeping it close to my chest, but I have a tempting offer from Cardboard. They were impressed with what I had to say about Dan Moss and Aaron Farmer.

When do we think they'll do the list? Guessing everyone is still enjoying the win (well we know they are thanks to Theo).

Given it a couple of days to allow the emotion to settle, and reflect on where we are with an objective mind. All my thoughts are over the course of the season, which was generally pretty poor given we only secured safety on the second last matchday of the season.

KEEP

Jack Barham- 100% keep, but we must sign a decent number 9 for him to play off
James Henry- Love to keep him but he can't play in the same team as Barrett due to their lack of pace
Aaron Jones- Got a bit about him and is a good leader
Pat Nash- Need a no2 to Marcus
Ash Akpan \
Keane Anderson - All young lads with potential, but can't see how we can keep them all with our stretched budget
Maxi Mullins /

RELEASE

Dejan Tetek- 10 games a season is not enough
Ollie Harfield- We need to be ruthless and I've yet to see a player the same after a bad injury like his, as with Tetek we can't afford passengers next season if we want to sign better players
Jordi Van Stappershoef- Just not good enough
Christian Maghoma- See above
Manny Maja- Again, another passenger and haven't seen what others see in him
Kai Corbett- Just don't think he's good enough, maybe keep if he's really cheap
Ollie Bray- Not playing so what's the point?
Tariq Uwakwe- Not even sure why he was signed
Lachlan Byrd- NLS at best
Theo Widdrington- No explanation needed, I've seen better players in Sunday League
Hady Ghandour- National South standard striker
Olly Scott- Apart from one short decent spell, not up to it I'm afraid.

RETURNING TO PARENT CLUBS

Kwame Thomas- Nice bloke but not what we need
Luca Woodhouse- On a development contract with Wycombe but can't see when it ends, depends a lot on if Wycombe go up, but would love to keep him.
Will Armitage- Liked his commitment and another season with us will do him the power of good.
Dan Ellision- A bit hit and miss but showed his potential at Wembley all bit it against lower league oppo.

WHAT WE NEED

A decent number 9 up top, someone who's mobile and can bring others into the game
A dog of a midfielder with a bit of bite to break up play and start attacks, and not stand around pointing all afternoon.
A quick attacking midfielder to do Barretts/Henrys running for them
An old head CB to marshall the young lads
To wing backs with genuine pace who can cross the ball

Good list. I think you try again with Tetek though. He's a football league talent so if you get lucky and he stays healthy that's probably the kind of thing we need to play above ourselves a bit. If we can't compete financially we need ways to beat the system.

If we look at two seasons, similar patterns. Defence needs strengthening despite the heroic efforts of the young back three this season. Luca Woodhouse definitely could play higher. Ellison would be brilliant with an old head at the back. I am still on the fence on whether Jenkins is decent as have not seen enough. Then midfield. Yes it needs more protectors in there for sure. We were miles off the
Playoffs this season with the current squad and if we are honest flirted with relegation. So we need quality coming in.

Don’t think we need more wingbacks. Jones x2, Scott and Akpan.

Get Thomas back and another striker and a few experienced players at the back.

Harfield will stay if the medical/coaching team think he is on track with his recovery.

Corbett will stay as Tommy will back himself with the transfer, and in fairness to Kai he was looking decent by the end of the season.

Uwakwe was only on loan, he was released by Swindon last week.

Olly Scott came on leaps and bounds before his injury. He's ex-KL and will surely stay.

Tommy loves Kwame and will surely offer him a deal.

yeah, the KL angle has been there for all to see recently with the socialising etc. Theo and AJ front and centre of everything, Olly Scott never far away, with Barrett and Hargreaves arguably our two best players during the season. It might not be the safest way to build a team, just importing a core group from a lower division, and maybe that explains a bit, but we are where we are.

I’d love to keep Harfield, it would be the right thing to do morally, but I suspect we will have a small budget again and there can be no room for sentiment. Not sure we can risk a wage on him, I suspect he’s one of our better earners too. Olly was ok, but he’s been out a while now, maybe give the injured players right until the start of the season to prove themselves, what we can’t afford is to sign players who are still not fit in the hope they recover to the level they were at before.
