The 2025 FA Trophy Final - Aldershot Town v Spennymoor Town (Match Day Thread)
Re: The 2025 FA Trophy Final - Aldershot Town v Spennymoor Town (Match Day Thread)
We could do with Shots performing well on the day and our support in full voice, then all those who haven’t been for a long time will start to pop back next season.

It won't happen....That's said after every big game we've played over the years.beachboy wrote:We could do with Shots performing well on the day and our support in full voice, then all those who haven’t been for a long time will start to pop back next season.
The only way to build a crowd is continued success which will never happen at Aldershot without someone putting the money in to achieve it.

Exactly even our 5 years in the league one play off game and one league game the only time we got a gate of over 5k .SteveyAsp wrote: ↑Sun Apr 20, 2025 1:16 pmIt won't happen....That's said after every big game we've played over the years.beachboy wrote:We could do with Shots performing well on the day and our support in full voice, then all those who haven’t been for a long time will start to pop back next season.

An average of 3k is much better than one or two gates a season of 5k.lowerbourneshot wrote: ↑Sun Apr 20, 2025 3:18 pmExactly even our 5 years in the league one play off game and one league game the only time we got a gate of over 5k .SteveyAsp wrote: ↑Sun Apr 20, 2025 1:16 pmIt won't happen....That's said after every big game we've played over the years.beachboy wrote:We could do with Shots performing well on the day and our support in full voice, then all those who haven’t been for a long time will start to pop back next season.

If we just averaged 2.5k a game we would be better off.

Thanks for that information, now I know what sections to ask for.Aldershot wrote: ↑Sun Apr 20, 2025 10:22 amNo worries mate. Great to see the amount of tickets that we've sold.
Where do you get the overview of what's left?
Re: The 2025 FA Trophy Final - Aldershot Town v Spennymoor Town (Match Day Thread)
No worries. The link to buy tickets can be found here (you'll need an account) - https://www.wembleystadium.com/events/2 ... s-Day-2025
From there you select 'Aldershot Town' and it shows you the available blocks and how many seats remain
Re: The 2025 FA Trophy Final - Aldershot Town v Spennymoor Town (Match Day Thread)
Thanks, i found some of the seats in the areas you mentioned but despite being registered it wouldn't let me purchase any other than the "best available" which is very high up.Aldershot wrote: ↑Sun Apr 20, 2025 7:16 pmNo worries. I'll probably end up doing that but wouldn't mind trying to find something close to the pitch

Fantastic post. Very factual. No good just ticking over. Hopefully the final may produce some rich Arab who wants to spend some money on redeveloping Aldershot the town and football club.SteveyAsp wrote: ↑Sun Apr 20, 2025 1:16 pmIt won't happen....That's said after every big game we've played over the years.beachboy wrote:We could do with Shots performing well on the day and our support in full voice, then all those who haven’t been for a long time will start to pop back next season.

The final does show Aldershot do have a fan base potentially bigger than Readings and Bournmouth. What is needed is an existing fan base and club that needs to except them. Not martys.

Morning Bruce, bigger than reading and Bournemouth is a wee bit far fetched but I know what area you’re coming fromRba wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 9:59 amFantastic post. Very factual. If Jones isn’t fit for the final who replaces him?
Corbett to lwb and frost CM?
We’ve seen Barrett and Henry together does not work.

all kinds of problems I think. Ellison was central to the problems at York, came back today and super-shambles again at the back.
Certainties (if fit): Dewhurst, AJ, Armitage, Woodhouse, Hargreaves, Barrett, Barham
Gaps to fill: LWB, CB, CM, (forward of some description)
LWB: Frost will probably play but I don't think he's been great in that role. I'm not sold on Corbett in any way shape or form but he's a maybe.
CB: I would honestly consider Mullins there. Feel like his Sutton game was more solid than Ellison's recent work. Bit worried tbh. Ellison's form has fallen off a cliff.
CM: he will probably play Theo. Anderson has had a couple of really good games and a few bad ones. Not unexpected but maybe too soon for him. Tetek would be interesting but seems unlikely that he'd jump Theo in the queue. The Henry experiment didn't really work. Maja looked promising at times this season but hasn't looked very good recently.
Forward: this would be Ryan Jones and hopefully still will be. Alternatives would be Ghandour and Thomas but that seems like it doesn't add much. Henry is another option but as others have noted, he and Barrett is probably not a 90 minute plan. If Jones isn't fit I would use Tetek here and play him slightly ahead of the other two midfielders to bolster the middle of the pitch a bit.

I agree with this lineup. Ellison was very good in the semi and think the final is clearly in the minds of a lot of these players. They are young, so it is somewhat understandable.Silasgoldeen wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 5:47 pm all kinds of problems I think. Tetek on the pitch at Wembley could cause some issues for them I think. On his day he is our most talented player

right, and it would balance the side a bit better too.Shots2000 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 6:01 pmI agree with this lineup. Both Maja and Anderson are cup-tied so can’t play.Silasgoldeen wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 5:47 pm all kinds of problems I think. Ellison was central to the problems at York, came back today and super-shambles again at the back.

For me it should be Tetek and Hargreaves but we all know it will be Theo and Hargreaves.

I've read some of the other responses. My feeling is that great sacrifices were made for YOU to enjoy rare days like this. Your VE day attendance will be inconsequential (sorry if that sounds brash) wether you attend or not. I get that's important too. But ultimately, you get one life. Don't deprive yourself. Come and watch the shots grace the turf at Wembley.
